MIT Researchers have discovered a way to store energy from sunlight, potentially revolutionizing solar power. The inexpensive and simple new process is carried out by natural material, and is loosely based on photosynthesis, whereby solar energy splits water into its elements, hydrogen and oxygen. These gases are stored and then recombined in a fuel cell to produce electricity whenever they are needed, whether the sun is shining or not.
